Work on the first level of the game is completed. The conquistadors' ship gets stuck in the rocks near a small island. To continue the journey, it is necessary to get support from the local population and repair the ship. You will have to establish relations with the leader of the Aztec village, fight hordes of skeleton warriors and defeat a mad priest who has captured a source of fresh water. In a few days, the version of the game will be available to users.

wonderful game! It reminds me so much of a beloved titles, Risk - World Domination and Kessen on PS2! You did a great job with the balance of mechanics!

I was also wondering, do you have a composer for this? I’d love to do some dynamic music that ties to the battles changing seamlessly between strategic and combat mode. I have idea to interweave musical Spanish combat and Aztec elements.

I’m the composer of Aztec Ride, which the number one game in Ludum Dare 47 and was nominated for a Pocket Gamer Award. Check the video below.

If you’re interested in discussing more my discord is gamercomposer#5669. If not and you have someone on the team covering that, all good. Happy Developing all the way!

I want to thank the organizers for the prizes provided. The contest is not only a chance to demonstrate your skills, but also an opportunity to try a different genre, to do something new. The high appreciation of my work encourages me to work on the project further.

A large map will appear in the game. Leading a small group of conquistadors, the character will move around the area, meet with Indian tribes, make alliances with chiefs and perform various tasks. The main goal is the colonization of the island. It will be possible to achieve this not only by war, but also by trade. Other types of characters will appear - mounted warriors, merchants, monks and settlers.

It will be possible to hire new warriors as well as Indians from allied tribes. And of course the updated version of the game will appear on itch.io

I hope you enjoy the game.

i'm looking forward to continued development of Conquistadors with the plans you've got in mind. the [TD] comp provided many interesting submissions such as this that showcase what AppGameKit can do in the hands of every level of user. this entry serves as inspiration for us to continue developing our skills while providing much-appreciated fun in between coding sessions, as well. congrats on your win, GG. it was well-deserved.

Congratulations on taking first place in the AGK Community Competition.

Hi,

Wow! The game  is really interesting. 3D graphics are really pretty and watching 3D characters fighting is so enjoyable visually. No doubt!!! The gameplay is simple but effective!

Is it a good game? Sure! I played some other entries as well. Will this game win? I am not sure since the target of the jam is tower defense game. Judges' focuses may be on whether this game belongs to tower defense game.

It is a very nice turn-based strategy game anyway!

Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback. I do not fully agree that the game does not meet the requirements of the competition. In the genre of "tower defense" there are many different options. But in any case, I will not challenge the opinion of the judges. They have the right to make any decision with which I agree in advance. I have already enjoyed working on the game and am motivated to further develop the project. I wish good luck to all participants of the contest!
